Binod Chaudhary visits UDG, talks to students

Binod Chaudhary, President of the Chaudhary Group (Chaudhary Group – CG Corp Global) visited the University of Donja Gorica and shared with students the story of his journey to the top. Satisfied with the visit, Mr. Chaudhary said he likes the “energy” of the University and the entrepreneurial spirit it is developing.

Binod Chaudhary controls CG Corp Global and is Nepal’s sole billionaire. His biggest asset is a controlling stake in Nepal’s Nabil Bank, but CG’s portfolio also includes foods, electronics, beer and hotels. Chaudhary’s CG Foods, maker of the popular Wai Wai noodles, has overseas factories in India, Serbia, Saudia Arabia and Bangladesh. CG’s hotel assets consist of 29 owned and 70 managed properties, including a string of luxury hotels with India’s Taj hotel chain. Chaudhary is a member of parliament representing the Nepali Congress.

In his address to students, Mr. Chaudhary emphasized that all the great innovations of the world are the result of someone’s dream, and that great ideas require great passion. Reflecting on the modern market, he said that the possibilities are endless due to the simple and fast communication that technology provides.

The students asked many questions about the greatest challenges is his career, and also wanted to know whether “it is more important to be the first or to be the best in business”, to which Mr. Chaudhary responded “To be the first, you must be the best”.

When asked whether he plans any investments in Montenegro, he answered “Absolutely yes.”

Dean of the University of Donja Gorica, professor Veselin Vukotic, said that this will not be the end of cooperation with Mr. Chaudhary and that it is a great thing that UDG students can listen to the same people as the students at Oxford or Harvard”.
