Justin M. Bishop, American security professional, says the Balkans nowadays has been much safer place than it used to be several years ago and that Montenegro has strengthened its democracy by joining NATO.
In an interview with Dnevne Novine daily, he emphasizes that there are people who still don’t want Montenegro to have closer ties with the West, but they lack alternative to offer.
“Those people have little to offer when it comes to alternative political or security issues,” claims Bishop.
The fact Montenegro joined NATO would lead the country to stability and democracy, as well as to security in the region. “The closer political, economic and security ties of the Balkan states with Europe are, the stability of the region is more certain.”
Justin M. Bishop possesses 30-year experience in the field of international state and private security sector. He’s currently running the Split-based Offline Solutions Ltd., a company dealing with management of corporative risks. He used to be a member of several NATO-led peace operations.
