Bokan: We want our employees to be satisfied

On Thursday, 31 May, Voli company received the award for the highest number of employees, greatest income in retail category and the greatest recognition for the fastest-growing company. I think that’s clear indicator of the success level and we just have to be happy and proud, said the president of Voli company, Mr Dragan Bokan in the interview for “Pobjeda”.

Revenue growth int he first four months of 2019 is by 6% higher than in the same period last year, says Mr Bokan.

Asked about the position of the employees in his company, Mr Vokan explained that they wanted the success in operation to be followed by the employees’ satisfaction.

“We are really trying to provide chances for our employees to get better and educate. Our employees and their family members can always rely on this company, as a responsible employer. We also offer them loans for the purposes of settling housing issues or other issues”, says Mr Bokan.

As Voli company is celebrating 24th anniversary, the award ceremony for the best employees in retail sector and logistics is going to take place tomorrow.

“Taking care of our employees is one of our priorities, and that’s why this moment is so special”, says Mr Bokan.

So far, Voli company has produced and put on the market around 200 tonnes of agricultural products.

“Tomato, cherry tomato, zucchini, mangel, cucumber, cabbage, salad, rocket, iceberg salad, green onion, spinach, parsley, cauliflower, broccoli – all the products high in demand. We are planning to boost production volume. By the end of year, we will have set up 3 hectares of greenhouses. We are going to start planting perennial plantings in order to satisfy the needs of Montenegrin markets”, said Mr Bokan.

Besides its own chain, Voli company exported iceberg salads to Serbia.

“There’s a constant deficit of domestic agricultural products, especially during summer season. We would compensate the quantities by importing products although we are endeavoring to stop hinging on the supplies from abroad”, said Mr Bokan.

Asked to comment on Sunday off, Mr Bokan says that his company has been for that from the very beginning.

“It will definitely have a positive impact on employees. This decision will make our functioning more simple. What’s even more important, our employees will be able to spend Sundays with their families and that’s priceless”, says Mr Bokan.

Voli company is operating in accordance with the regulations and standards that are in force in the developed EU Member States.

“Considering that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has share in the ownership structure, Voli company is fulfilling even the most stringent criteria of this institution, and any other institution. Unfair competition in Montenegro is the result of the grey zone in the economy and tax evasion. Hopefully, our government will be able to bring this problem to an end”, said Mr Bokan.

Voli company has become part of “Kupujmo Domaće” project whose main objective was to draw consumers’ attention to the importance of purchasing domestic products. Montenegrin consumers, as Mr Bokan says, usually decide to buy domestic dairy products.

“We still have a long way ahead of us in increasing the percentage of domestic products purchase”, said Mr Bokan.

Voli company has put considerable capital into sport. Mr Bokan thinks that it is a duty of the successful ones to exert positive influence on the society.

“We’re continuously providing our assistance to health and education institutions. We officially opened on Friday the cabinet for expert teaching in “Sergije Stanić” school, financed by Voli. The same day we offered jobs to the best students of the Faculty of Economics. Hopefully, young people will choose to stay in their homeland and make contribution to the future of our company and the economy of our country”, concluded Mr Bokan.
