Borisov: I condemn incidents provoked by religious processions and Dodik’s behavior

President of the Council of Ministers of Bulgaria, Mr Boyko Borisov, said during the meeting with Mr Duško Marković, Montenegro’s Prime Minister, that his country harshly condemned vandalism emanating from religious processions in Montenegro.

“We support your country as our ally and our friend”, Mr Borisov said.

He also criticized views of the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr Milorad Dodik against Mr Milo Đukanović’s official visit to that country.

“You can’t be truly honest about Europe and European unity if you are forbidding Montenegro’s president to enter the country”, Mr Borisov said.

Mr Marković pointed out that Montenegro and Bulgaria agreed that EU integration of the Western Balkans was crucial for its faster economic and democratic development.

“Montenegro is grateful to the Government of Bulgaria and its PM, for the support for our European ambitions. Bulgaria and Mr Borisov have been strongly supporting us and sharing experiences”, Mr Marković said.

Montenegro’s PM emphasized Bulgaria’s support during Montenegro’s presidency over the EU. Thanks to Mr Borisov’s devotion and advocacy, Adriatic and Ionian road was put on the list of European corridors, Mr Marković said.

He added that he had acquainted his host with the expectations regarding the last negotiation chapter.

Mr Marković stressed he has started dialogue with relevant political and social actors in Montenegro in relation to all questions relevant to Montenegro’s European path.
