Brajović and Erdoğan open National Library in Turkey

President of the Parliament, Mr Ivan Brajović, opened the National Library in Turkey, part of the presidential complex, together with Turkish president, Mr Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of social and cultural life, as well as members of the diplomatic corps in Ankara.

The second day of Mr Brajović’s visit to Turkey was continued by the wreath-laying ceremony in the Ataturk Mausoleum and meeting with the president of the Grand National Assembly, Mr Mustafa Sentop.

It was stated that cooperation between parliaments had been improved and given additional impulse to the development of excellent relations between countries.

“During this term of office, parliamentary diplomacy was raised at higher level and put in the function of further improvement of relations in all areas of cooperation. Increased activity of groups of friendship, working bodies, and MPs of both parliaments added to the improvement of overall relations. Turkey is Montenegro’s friend and we want our friendship to be further strengthened in the forthcoming period”, Mr Brajović pointed out.

President of the Grand National Assembly, Mr Mustafa Şentop, pointed out that bilateral relations between countries had been significantly improved. He emphasized Montenegro’s NATO importance and the results achieved in the European integration process.

He added that the way different nations lived in Montenegro could serve as an example for the entire Balkan region.

Two presidents agreed to meet again in April, on the occasion of marking 100th anniversary of parliamentarism in Turkey.
