Bregu: Every initiative removing obstacles should be considered

Every initiative aiming to remove obstacles in our region is crucial and should be considered, the Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council, RCC, Ms Majlinda Bregu commented on the Ohrid initiative – mini Schengen.
The RCC has been completely committed to the regional cooperation, according to her.

“It is our mission and we were invited in Ohrid to hear the proposal of the leaders of the three countries from our region,” Ms Bregu added.

She reminded that six economies of the region – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia – have been in the process of establishing the regional economic space officially presented in 2017 upon the initiative of all six leaders of the above-mentioned countries.

“The process of acceding the EU was pretty slow and now even unclear. Bilateral disputes and different approaches led to delays in creating a common economic space along with certain activities that were of a topmost priority, and now are not.”
