Budva rocked by political scandals

Yesterday’s ceremonial session of the Municipal Assembly of Budva, organized on the occasion of celebrating the Municipality Day, started with playing of the shortened version of the national anthem. This was the reason why the DPS councilors, as well as the councilors of the Crnogorska party, the Social Democratic party and the member of the presidency of the Civic Movement URA, Mr Blažo Rađenović, left the session in protest.

Even though the President of the Municipality of Budva, Mr Marko Carević, claimed it has been agreed that complete instrumental of the anthem should be played and that the whole stuff was a technical omission, many doubt it!

President of the DPS Municipal Assembly in Budva, Mr Predrag Jelusic, commented on the allegations of Mr Carević, stating that he doubted it was about the technical omission.

“But if so, we expect the culprit to be found asap,” noted Mr Jelušić.

Vice-president of the Crnogorska Party, Mr Miodrag Čučka, emphasized that the Crnogorska Party councilors left the room as “they protested against the shortened version of the national anthem.”

He announced that his party would start an initiative next week in order to “make the political situation in Budva clear”.

Priest Miajlo Backovič was sitting during the anthem

Another scandal happened at the yesterday’s session marking the 75th anniversary of Budva’s liberation. Priest Miajlo Backović was the only attendee who was sitting during the anthem.

When asked why he wasn’t standing, priest Macković said he is a truly antifascist and a real Montenegrin who doesn’t want to make compromise with the truth and new interpretations of the history.
