Maternity ward and surgery block have been reconstructed in the General Hospital in bar. This investment “weighs” 85.000 EUR and was made by businessmen from bar, with the support of donors.
Hospital in Bar, which has the status of a regional healthcare institution for Bar, Ulcinj and part of Budva, receives 8.000 patients on an annual basis. Around 1.500 patients are hospitalized for surgery, and maternity ward welcomes 800 babies.
Minister of Health, Kenan Hrapović, said that recent investments were another confirmation that the hospital in bar was getting closer to standards of a modern medical center, just like it deserves.
“We are glad about the fact that we have support of donors in our efforts to improve the conditions of treatment of our citizens. In this year only, the Government provided 320.000 EUR for the contemporary equipment in the hospital. In a few months, the implementation of the project of energy efficiency will begin. This project costs around 1.100.000 EUR”, said Minister Hrapović.
