Cannulas from India not infected

Microbiological analysis of cannulas carried out by the Institute for Public Health has shown that there are no bacteria causing infections, the Ministry of Health confirmed. The cannulas were withdrawn from use last week on suspicion that they were infected with the staphylococcus bacteria.

In addition, the Institute stated that it did not register increase in the number of patients infected with the bacteria.

Upon the ministry’s request, final decision on the use of the given series of intravenous cannulas will be made after their sterility is additionally tested at one of the accredited regional control laboratories in the region.

The cannulas in question belong to two series manufactured by the Harsoria Healthcare PVT LTD company.
