Charge against Bečić due to protest in Zeta

Police Department has submitted to the court in Podgorica request for the initiation of misdemeanor proceeding against Democratic Montenegro as legal entity, its leader, Aleksa Bečić and director of that party, Vladimir Vujović, on the account of organizing unregistered political rally in Golubovci on 16 February this year.

The police state that they have violated the law on public assemblies and public events.

“On 16 February 2019, between 3 and 4 pm, there was a public assembly at the plateau of the Centre for Culture and Podgorica –Petrovac road, in Golubovci. No written application had been submitted to the competent authority within the deadline established by law, 5 days before the assembly is held. On the occasion, participants blocked the traffic on Podgorica-Petrovac road”, reads the request.

Bečić is charged with letting the party act in the manner previously described, without mandatory supervision, while Vujović failed to submit the application to the competent authority.
