Special Prosecutor’s Office submitted charges against 256 physical persons and 85 enterprises for the criminal offences that fall within the competences of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, said Dragan Radonjić, manager of the Special team.
He said that organized crime can never be stronger than institutions. His team will keep responding to every challenge, with the enhancement of cooperation, trust, team work and maintenance of professional standards.
Head of the Special Police Department said that the supposed material damage caused by the economic crime amounts around 71 million EUR. However, Special Prosecutor’s Office has a special department for financial investigation and it determined that the damage exceeds 100 million EUR.
He reminded that Special police department carried out successfully several actions with the code names. In some of these actions, dozens of persons were identified and their criminal activities disclosed.
Criminal groups have recently changed the method of the execution of their crimes. They use two ways to deal with enemies.
“Setting up explosives under the vehicles or using firearms and silicone face mask”, says Radonjić.
Special Prosecutor’s Office was successful at prosecution of persons who committed the crime offences – evasion of taxes and contributions.
