Cirgic: Cetinje is a reminder to various anti-state political and para-political associations in MNE how shameful their betrayal is

Cetinje

In recent days, it has been heard on several occasions from the ranks of the Democratic Front (DF) that Cetinje does not deserve to be the Old Royal Capital. The last statement with that message came from one of the DF leaders, Andrija Mandic. The dean of the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature, Adnan Cirgic, has told CdM that such attitudes do not surprise him. He explains why, but also sends several strong messages to everyone who thinks of Cetinje as Mandic.

“If we remember that Andrija Mandic said two years ago that Cetinje was a remote and insignificant village at the foot of Lovcen, which should be proud of the fact that King Aleksandar Karadjordjevic was born there, then the latest messages that Cetinje should be deprived of the status of the Old Royal Capital that come from the DF cannot be any surprise”, says Cirgic.

He adds that the DF’s initiative to abolish the Old Royal Capital status for Cetinje does not differ much from the efforts of its partner Dritan Abazovic and his policemen to criminalize not only Belveder but the whole of Cetinje – as revenge for the civil revolt against those who unscrupulously destroy the highest values which this city has been nurturing since the time of King Nikola: civic multinational and multi-religious harmony and European values.
