Montenegro has recorded its highest daily coronavirus case figure since the start of the outbreak – 57. There are currently 391 active cases. The latest data of the Public Health Institute show that our country has 61 active cases per 100.000 people. In this sense, Gusinje is facing the worst situation, as it has 700 active cases per 100.000 people, followed by Rožaje with 418 currently active cases. Six Montenegrin municipalities still haven’t recorded any Covid-19 case.
The Public Health Institution stresses that the virus has shown that warm weather won’t kill it, adding that it’s more easily spread than anyone could have expected.

An epidemiological research found that 511 people contracted the virus by coming in contact with somebody already infected. In 158 cases, the source of infection is unknown. There are currently 414 men infected with the virus and 306 women.
Even though at the start of the outbreak health officials were telling that the virus mostly attacked the elderly, that hasn’t been the case with Montenegro so far. The greatest risk of getting Covid-19 symptoms are among people 30 to 39 years old (134), while there are 110 of those infected with the virus who are 40 to 49 years old. Even 96 cases are among people 20 to 29 years old, while 88 cases are among people 50 to 59 years old. Adults aged 60-69 account for 76 cases, those among 70 to 79 years old – 49, and people over the age of 80 make up 21 coronavirus cases in Montenegro. The virus attacked children under the age of 10 as well, and there are 49 confirmed cases, announced the website coronainfocg.me.
In order to limit the spread of the coronavirus across the country, the National Coordination Body has so far taken a range of specific measures in four municipalities in the north of the country – Gusinje, Rožaje, Bijelo Polje and Berane.
