Darmanović opened the Consulate of Montenegro in Trieste

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Srđan Darmanović, opened last night the Consulate of Montenegro in Trieste.

Mr Darmanović pointed out that opening of the Consulate in Trieste, in the year when Montenegro and Italy are celebrating 140 years of diplomatic relations, represented an important step towards extending the diplomatic network and a proof of mutual commitment to keep developing the overall interstate cooperation.

He is sure that the activities of the honorary consul, Mr Sven Bihler, will contribute to the improvement of bilateral bonds and promotion of economic, tourist, scientific and cultural potentials of our country.

Chief of Montenegrin diplomacy reminded that Montenegro and Italy had stable political relations and cooperation, especially in the area of economy, tourism and energy.

“Our diplomacy makes a significant contribution to the diversification of Montenegrin economy and high growth rates, through committed and comprehensive activities aimed at connecting business units and attracting foreign direct investments”Monte, said Mr Darmanović.

Honorary consul pointed out that the cooperation between Montenegro and Italy could be improved and it was necessary to inform Italian public of the characteristics of Montenegrin society and market. He stressed that there was some space for deepening connections particularly in wood industry, food industry and tectile industry.
