Decision on indictment against Medojevic and his associates in 15 days

Within the legal deadline, and at the latest within 15 days, the Podgorica High Court will decide whether to confirm the indictment against the DF official and PzP leader, Nebojsa Medojevic, and a dozen of his associates. Special Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) suspects that they organised a criminal group aimed at money laundering.

Out of twelve defendants in the money laundering case, today’s hearing on the control of the SDT’s indictment was attended only by Medojevic and foreign currency dealer Gordan Konatar.

SDT pointed out that there were 96 documents as evidence in the case, as well as 61 witnesses to hear.

It is still unknown whether the indictment will be accepted and, if so, whether the trial will be broadcasted live.

After leaving the courtroom, Medojevic did not want to talk to media.

Medojevic told the court that the indictment was filed by chief special prosecutor Milivoje Katnic out of personal reasons.

As he said, this indictment is Katnic’s revenge because of his publicly pronounced words.

“For at least 20 years, I am professionally engaged in the fight against corruption and organised crime,” Medojevic pointed out.

According to him, there are no evidence against him and his associates and the indictment is confusing.

All defence attorneys agreed that the indictment was unprofessional, confusing, incomplete and contradictory. They particularly emphasised that the indictment contained no description of how the criminal acts had been committed. According to them, it contained only the transcribed articles of the law combined with the names of the accused.
