DF won’t inform police about public assembly on 9 May

The Democratic Front, DF, today told it won’t announce any public assembly on 9 May when the final judgement in the case referring to failed coup attempt in October 2016 is supposed to be delivered. In case the party opts to organize any, competent authorities won’t be informed, said the DF.

According to this party, Montenegro is a private ownership and they already know that brothers Đukanović will make the final decision in this case.

“This time we’ll have very specific and targeted measures and actions in order to be able to protect dignity and freedom of the DF leaders and officials. We have a clear message for Mr Đukanović and his team – we won’t end by behind bars as we are innocent. Thieves and murderers who walk freely across the country are the ones who should be imprisoned, and by saying this, we mean on many people from the govt, police, prosecution and courts.”

For a quick recap: The DF leaders, Andrija Mandić and Milan Knežević, are accused of being involved in the alleged coup attempt. One of the party leaders, Nebojša Medojević, at the yesterday’s press conference told that in case Mandić and Knežević were convicted of involvement in the alleged coup plot, some serious ethnic conflicts might erupt in Montenegro. On the other hand, the President of the Security and Defense Committee within the Parliament of Montenegro and DPS official, Obrad Mišo Stanišić, on the other hand, claimed Montenegro has never been better prepared and more decisive in responding to all security challenges.
