Diaspora from Bar in Chicago, and in the USA in general, that has been helping and investing so much into their homeland, has an immense potential for economic projects, said the director of the Employment Agency, Suljo Mustafić, on the great reunion of emigrants in Chicago.
This big reunion was organized at the Cultural center “Rumija“ which is one of the most organized and the most numerous associations that gather our diaspora at the territory of North America. Predrag Mitrović, director of Diaspora Administration, pointed out many projects and activities initiated in this city that have been supported and implemented with the help of diaspora.
As far as the relations with the diaspora are concerned, Mitrović said they were good. Many projects and activities aimed at improving these relations have already been carried out.
“With good coordination of state authorities and local administration of Bar, a lot more can be done in the context of the development of economy and investment in sustainable projects in so many fields. We must strengthen mutual trust and make this state the service for our citizens in diaspora”, said Mustafić.
President of the Municipality of Bar, Duško Raičević, said that Bar deeply appreciated the contribution diaspora gave to their town and kept seeing it as being their constituent part.
Raičević pointed out that Bar paid attention to the needs of its diaspora. Motivated by that, municipality provided some funds for the construction of the gym in the elementary school “Mrkojevići”.
The next event “Days of Diaspora” is intended to take place right in Bar.
