€787,000 for boycotting Parliament in 2017

The Parliament of Montenegro paid €2,009,507 for MPs’ net salaries in 2017. Out of the sum, those who are boycotting Parliament received €787,420, according to the data published on Parliament’s website. Speaker of Parliament Ivan Brajovic earned the highest salary in the previous year – €23,775 for 12 months.

His predecessor, Social Democratic Party (SDP) leader Ranko Krivokapic received €20,610 last year. Opposition leaders who spent much of the year, ie 11 months, boycotting Parliament were also well paid.

Thus, Andrija Mandic, the leader of New Serb Democracy (NOVA) received €19,580 in 2017. His colleague from the Democratic Front, leader of the Movement for Changes (PzP) Nebojsa Medojevic earned €19,725, whereas Milan Knezevic, the leader of the Democratic People’s Party (DNP) earned €17,646. Their colleague from DF, Branko Radulovic, was paid €22,236 in 2017.

When it comes to the party leaders who did not enter Parliament in 2017 at all, Demos leader Miodrag Lekic earned €21,325 for 365 days of boycott. He is followed by the leader of Democratic Montenegro Aleksa Becic, who received €17.280 last year and URA Civic Movement’s leader Dritan Abazovic, who got €17,264.
