Emigrant communities play prominent role in every cooperation

Montenegro’s president, Mr Milo Đukanović, met with Mr Boris Popivoda, president of the Montenegrin community in North Macedonia and Mr Medo Balić, president of the Emigrants Union from Montenegro.

President Đukanović expressed his satisfaction with the meeting with representatives of two associations operating in North Macedonia and thanked them for the contribution they made to building the reputation of Montenegro and achieving its goals. Emigrant communities are very important bridge of any cooperation and our joint duty is to maintain the bonds we forged, pointed out Mr Đukanović. He added that cooperation with diaspora had been given special importance after the renewal of independence. President insisted that assistance and support fir emigrants would grow simultaneously with country’s development and economic growth.

The meeting discussed current affairs in the business of two associations, the role and importance of the Council on Cooperation with Emigrants and other issues relevant to the improvement of connections with the homeland.

Cooperation with Macedonian institutions is excellent and Embassy of Montenegro in  Skopje has a prominent role in the work of the associations.
