EPCG to reconstruct five small hydropower plants

The Electric Power Company of Montenegro, EPCG, is about to start with a new project of reconstructing and modernization of five small hydropower plants built during the mid-twentieth century. The estimated project value is EUR 3,260,000.

The five small-scale hydropower plants (Rijeka Crnojevića, Podgor, Lijeva Rijeka, Šavnik and Rijeka Mušovića) represent parts of the hydropower plant Perućica.

“The deadline for drafting the conceptual design is 8 months from the day of signing the contract, and after the document’s revision, i.e. in the third quarter of 2019, there will be a tender announced in order to choose the most suitable bidder, equipment fitter as well as the main designer for all five facilities,” announced the EPCG.

The project itself will improve technical features of the hydropower plants, extend their lifespan, increase the efficiency and decrease the production costs along with the greater use of water potentials.
