EU has invested over €800.000 in the equipment of laboratories in Tehnopolis

The EU has invested over €800.000 in the equipment of laboratories in Tehnopolis, Mrs Ona-Cristina Popa said.

She stated that EU support helped Montenegrin entrepreneurs create new economic values and new jobs on the grounds of innovative ideas and new technologies.

Equipment for bio-chemical laboratory, financed by the EU, will help farmers improve quality and safety of their products.

“New equipment for industrial design will be of crucial importance to small and medium enterprises that need support and expertise in the area of modern design and branding their products. New information equipment for Data center will provide support for young technological enterprises and other companies which need innovative information solutions for the development of new services and reduction in operation costs”, Ms Popa points out.

In the times of the unprecedented economic crisis provoked by coronavirus pandemic, innovation and new technologies are key drivers of economic growth and reforms Montenegro needs in order to advance on its EU path.

“Digital transformation is one of the key areas that will be supported through the €9 billion investment by the EU under the Western Balkans Economic and Investment Plan. I hope that Montenegro will use this exceptional opportunity to modernize its economy and create much-needed new jobs, which will be beneficial for both citizens and the economy. Continuous EU support for initiatives such as Technopolis and the Smart Specialization Strategy aims to strengthen innovation policy planning, respond to shortcomings and challenges, and support long-term recovery, digital transition and competitiveness of the Montenegrin economy,” Ms Popa concluded.
