Plans of the largest energy subjects in the state, according to the third recovery package, include investment totaling even 1 billion euro. Of this amount, it is expected to implement investment worth around 734 million euro until 2024. It is estimated that around 350 million euro worth projects can be contracted with Montenegrin companies, Dnevne Novine daily writes.

EFFECTS

Only this year, around 50 million euro will be distributed in the Montenegrin industry on the basis of the investment in the area of electrical energy.

“The poor condition of the distribution network requires intensive and justified investment. Thanks to the excellent results in the elimination of unjustified losses in the network, the Montenegrin electricity distribution system is healthy and investment-capable. Around €170 mil investment of CEDIS until 2024 won’t have negative impact on the tariff for end consumers,“ it was said in the third recovery package.

TPP PLJEVLJA

The environmental reconstruction project is a multi-year project worth 45 million euro, which should ultimately ensure full compliance of emissions of harmful particles from the power plant with European regulations. Through the implementation of this project, it is envisaged that the Thermal power Plant Pljevlja itself should be a source of heating for the town of Pljevlja.

HYDROPOWER PLANTS PERUĆICA AND PIVA

Reconstruction and modernization of large hydropower plants is one of the top-priority projects in investment plans of the Electric Power Company of Montenegro, EPCG. In particular, we should keep in mind the fact that by reconstruction and modernization of these power plants, the EPCG creates even better preconditions for the valorization of potentials that mean the possibility of increasing the profit that the company makes.

SOLAR POWER PLANT

The contract for the construction of one of the largest solar power plants in Europe has been concluded between the state and a consortium consisting of the EPCG, Finnish Fortum and one of the largest EPC contractors in this area, Sterling and Willson. The contract envisages the construction of the Briska gora solar power plant with a capacity of 250 MW. The plan is to start with the works late this year.

WIND POWER PLANT GVOZD

A series of activities carried out so far show the cost-effectiveness of constructing the Gvozd wind farm. In that sense, the EPCG has entered the final phase of project preparation, which includes negotiations with financial institutions. The realization of this project involves the construction of a wind farm with a capacity of 50 MW, with an estimated investment of more than 60 million euro.

HYDROPOWER PLANT KOMARNICA

Multi-year activities on the preparation of the project for the construction of HPP Komarnica are also entering the final stage.

The planned solutions envisage the construction of a hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 171 MW and an estimated value of about 272 million euro.

WIND POWER PLANT BRAJIĆI

The implementation of a successful concept, attracting investment in new production facilities, which includes the lease of state land, has resulted in an offer to build a wind farm with a capacity of 100.1 MW. The offer of the consortium led by the German WPD envisages an investment of around 101 million euro. Negotiations are in the final phase and the signing of the contract on the lease of state land is expected soon.
