FDI flows in Montenegro: Nearly €420m poured

According to preliminary data of the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBM), the total inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) from the beginning of the year to the end of July amounted to €419.8 million, while €134 million flowed out of the country.

The net inflow of foreign direct investments, i.e. the difference between their inflow and outflow, amounted to €285.8 million in July, which is by 18.4% higher compared to the same period last year.

“The total inflow of foreign direct investments dropped by 6.3% compared with the comparable period, which is a result of the decline in equity investments,” the CBM Bulletin suggests.

“The inflow of foreign direct investments in the form of equity investments amounted to €126.7 million, accounting for 30.2% of the total. Of this amount, €51.6 million was invested in real estate, and €75.1 million in companies and banks,” the data show.
