Gjeloshaj: Constitutional Court candidate should be Albanian, elections a solution to crisis

Nik Đeljošaj

Early parliamentary elections are a way out of the current crisis in Montenegro, says Nik Gjeloshaj, the leader of the Albanian Alternative and the president of the Municipality of Tuzi, in an interview for the Albanian service Voice of America.

He has repeated that the minority parties should agree on the fourth candidate for the judge of the Constitutional Court and that he/she should be an Albanian who would be appointed by the Albanian parties and not by other political entities.

Discussing the upcoming presidential elections, Gjeloshaj says that the attention is focused on the local elections in Tuzi. He adds that his party doesn’t fine the presidential elections so important. “I think there is no possibility of an Albanian to run for the election”, he has stated, among other things.

Referring to the way minorities are treated in Montenegro, he says that “Albanians have never been integrated into institutions at this level as we have today. Not only are they integrated when it comes to jobs, but also in the management of institutions, which in the past were only seen on TV. Today, these institutions are managed by Albanians. This is a huge improvement. It was a big step forward with our participation in government”.
