We’re going to NATO: Let DF play parliament; Russia’s decision ridiculous

Democratic Front (DF) may have fun and drink some beer at the parliament sitting in Murino, where it is protesting against Montenegro’s membership in NATO, said prime minister Dusko Markovic after today’s PM question hour in the Parliament.

“What ‘parliament sitting’ in Murino? It is a fair of irresponsible opposition. Let them play parliament in their delusion… Let them have fun, drink a few beers. Montenegro goes its way,” said Markovic.

On the other hand, he believes that DF’s protest in Cetinje would be peaceful and without incidents. The protest was announced and scheduled for Friday when Parliament is to vote on membership in NATO.

The PM believes that the very Parliament’s session in Cetinje has been a trigger for Russia’s decision to ban imports of Montenegrin wine because its authorities allegedly found plastics and pesticides in the wine.

“This decision is ridiculous. It is clear that this is a political decision and the message in the context of the sitting in Cetinje. Their findings are ridiculous – such a thing has not happened in Plantaze for 40 years of its operation. No obstruction will prevent us from following the path that we have chosen. The message for the citizens of Russia is that they have lost one of the wines they love most,” said the prime minister.

Russian Federal Service for Supervision allegedly revealed that 24 series of the Plantaze 13 Jul alcoholic products were not in accordance with the requirements of quality and safety in 2017. Despite the warnings, the 13 Jul company has not provided information that it removed the deficiencies. Therefore, imports of the Plantaze alcoholic beverages in Russia were banned on 26 April.
