Government establishes company in charge of demolishing illegally constructed buildings

Government of Montenegro adopted the information and rendered decision on the establishment of limited liability company Protection of space of Montenegro. The main task of the company will be implementation of administrative solution for the execution of demolition, removal, return to previous state of land and facilities, Mr Aleksandar Dajković, Director General of the Directorate for Inspection affairs, has said.

Government’s decision envisages establishment of one-member limited liability company headquartered in Danilovgrad.

Main activity of the company, financing, competences of the Government as founder, bodies, deadline for the adoption of the statute, appointment of board of directors and CEO have been established. The company will have all the necessary mechanization and equipment for the implementation of administrative solutions.

According to Mr Dajković, establishment of the company will have an impact on the reduction of execution costs in relation to the current state and exercise of greater number of executions with granted funds.

He pointed at the evident need for constant and quicker accessibility of the executive service to inspectors for the execution of solutions and said that the company could perform tasks of space protection, especially in the cases of natural disasters, emergency situations, landslides, terrain instability, torrential deposits, slides and in case of earthquake.

Apart from that, company can also perform activities for inspections, ecological inspection, housing inspection, water inspection, inspection for railway traffic, inspection for road traffic, and inspection for state roads…

Mr Dajković said that owner of illegally constructed building would bear the costs. Amount of funds will depend on the number of executions and efficiency of payment of costs.
