Government to provide €20 million for pay rise in education and healthcare sector

Government’s Commission for Economic Policy considered today Draft Budget for 2020, which will amount to €2,5 billion.

Draft Budget earmarks money for rise in salaries in education and healthcare, providing around €20 million.

Salaries of the employees in the education sector will be increased by 9%.

Minister of Education, Mr Damir Šehović, said that the Government proved that needs of education staff were its priority.

He added that they hadn’t neglected housing needs of the education staff and that they would be working on increasing funds for housing fund.

Minister pointed out that salaries of the employees in the education sector would be the highest in the region, exclusive of the EU Member States, Croatia and Slovenia.
