Growth of salaries and retirement benefits in 2020

The Government of Montenegro hasn’t gone into debt for the current spending, and it’s not its intention either, said Duško Marković, the Prime Minister.

Starting from 2020, he expects budget surplus, higher salaries and pensions and better life standard.

Head of the Deputies club of the Democratic Party of Socialists, Miodrag Radunović, asked the Prime Minister about the effects of the recent 500 million EUR transaction of euro bonds at the international financial market.

„This euro bond issue has been the most beneficial so far. This transaction alleviated the pressure on mid –term public finances, part of the funds was used to pay the obligations in the next two years and, therefore, the need for borrowing was reduced. During 2020, we expect budget surplus which would create space for new projects which will cause economic growth and better life standard. Montenegro is on a good way and this year will be even better than 2017“, said Marković.
