Gvozdenović: We’ll continue our work even if some parties refuse to take part

Branimir Gvozdenović

President of the Committee on further reform of electoral and other legislation, Branimir Gvozdenović, invited all parliamentary parties to take active and constructive part in the activities of this body. He said that even not all parties accept to come, the Committee would keep the work.

“The dialogue must be continued because the Committee has an ambitious plan of activities relevant to the further journey of Montenegro towards the EU”, said Gvozdenović.

Members of the Secretariat of the Committee have already been selected and consultations with them were held last week.

“They received the directions and main guidelines and they were delivered some serious research on electoral legislation carried out by the countries form the region and the EU, inclusive of the best possible examples in practice. That be helpful in further preparation for the work”, said Gvozdenović.

As he says, effective communication was established with the associated members of the academic community and civil sector.

“They are serious partners in the joint activities aimed at additional improvement of the democratic environment and they have already sent their suggestions that will be used as guidelines that we’ll take into consideration”, says Gvozdenović.

They also established communication with ODIHR, EU delegation and Venice Commission.

“The important thing is that we see readiness for every kind of assistance in our future cooperation. Very serious work is ahead of us and I assume that all the relevant actors on the political stage will recognize the importance of the work in the Committee”, says Gvozdenović.
