An immunologist from Rijeka, Mr Zlatko Trobonjača, tells CdM that the isolation cannot end abruptly, as any sudden action can lead to massive consequences.

He also noted that there were some indications in the past about a dangerous pandemic, adding that the worst thing is that even when this is all behind us, it still remains as a serious threat.

“The isolation cannot end all of a sudden. Having in mind that there are some forms of the disease lasting for several weeks, any sudden lifting of lockdown measures might lead to deadly resurgence,” Mr Trobonjača explained for CdM.

That is why, according to him, countermeasures should be lifted carefully based on the data of the epidemiologist institutions, that is, as the number of infections is falling.

The citizens, he added, should trust the epidemiological institutions, as they will allow them to have social and economic life with protection in a way that would significantly decrease the possibilities for getting infection, i.e. for the outbreak.
