Last year, 103 persons (!) were accused of the organized crime and reported to the Special State Prosecutor’s Office. This is 267,86 % more than in 2016, when there were „only“ 28. As reported form the State Prosecutor’s Office, an order for conducting investigation was made against 68 reported persons, whereas the indictments against 9 persons were delegated to the competent prosecutor’s offices.
Seems like the prosecutor’s office had a lot of work to do last year, since 109 persons were charged with different criminal offences.
„Fifty two indictments were for organized crime, 14 for corruption, 11 for money laundering, 5 for terrorism, 1 for war crimes and 16 for other criminal offences. Direct indictment for high corruption was issued against one person“, it’s written in the report.
Orders for carrying out the investigation process were made against 168 persons last year, which is more than double in comparison to the year before.
