Italian media about undersea cable: Italy is giving Montenegro a hand

Breaking news in Italian media today was the undersea power cable between Montenegro and Italy, which is going to become fully operational on Friday, 15 November.

Representatives of Terna company said that Italy’s president, Mr Sergio Mattarella, and Montenegro’s president, Mr Milo Đukanović, would deliver addresses at the ceremony.

Italian “Il centro” states that Italy is “giving Montenegro a hand” with this project.

Italian media emphasized the importance of this project and the ceremonial pressing on the button.

Preparations for this grand event, which is going to bring together numerous officials,  are under way.

The project has strategic importance for this region because it is the first inter-connection between Montenegro and Europe.

“This infrastructure is the first “energy bridge” between the EU and the Balkans. It promotes integration of energy markets, guaranteeing high standards of security, efficiency and sustainability of Montenegrin, Italian and European energy system”, said Terna representatives.
