The Government of Montenegro still hasn’t taken an attitude towards the request of Italy for receiving part of migrants from the ship “Dicotti”.
“The Embassy of Italy contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and told them about the possible acceptance of migrants from “Dicotti”. Montenegrin authorities still haven’t decided what to do regarding that matter”, said the Head of the Government’s Public Relations Office, Srđan Kusovac.
Italy requested from Montenegro to receive parts of migrants who disembarked Sunday in one of the ports in Sicily after the Italian authorities kept them on the ship.
Deputy Prime Minister of Italy, Matteo Salvini, thanked Albania for its readiness to accept 20 out of 140 migrants who have been kepton the “Dicotti” ship for days. Rome contacted Montenegro and Serbia with the request to take over part of migrants.
