Katnic: Montenegro was prevented from being shrouded in black

Montenegro’s chief special prosecutor Milivoje Katnic has revealed the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT), in collecting evidence on planned coup on election day to overthrow the government, received support of the international partners of Montenegro, i.e. the USA, UK and Serbia.

“The USA and UK provided significant support in gathering evidence about planned coup on the election day. Serbia and its state bodies also contributed a lot. Even though I’m talking about an individual, I should also mention crucial and preventive role of the leading Serbian Orthodox Church bishop Metropolitan Amfilohije, particularly on the election day (16 October)”, emphasized Katnic.

Montenegrin chief special prosecutor for organized crime is convinced he has firm evidence that a terrorist attack was planned for the election day. “I may promise hundreds of resignations as I’m absolutely convinced all claims will be proved”, Katnic said.

He added the performance appraisal of the SDT has been excellent, but it has to be improved by developing capacities.

Katnic concluded Montenegrin state bodies, by preventing planned bloodshed, protected the accused from themselves and possible severe consequences.
