Katnic seized Mandic and Knezevic’s passports

The High Court required the Democratic Front (DF) officials Andrija Mandic and Milan Knezevic to surrender their passports, CdM learns in the political alliance.

Their passports have been seized upon the proposal of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) headed by Milivoje Katnic.

On that occasion, DF’s presidency concluded at today’s sitting that the persecution of DF orchestrated by Milo Djukanovic, Milivoje Katnic and individuals from the High Court was continued.

“After yesterday’s supreme state prosecutor’s decision, it is obvious that anger of Milo Djukanovic and his minion Katnic has escalated, so they immediately resorted to ‘countermeasures’ and new ways of persecuting DF. In the last couple o years, DPS and its leader have betrayed their closest associates several times, such as in the case of former president of Serbia and Montenegro Svetozar Marovic. They terribly surprised when they realised DF was not just a coalition of different national and political subjects, but rather a structure based on the principle of family solidarity, which was ready to defend its honour and dignity at all costs and stood firmly behind each of its members,” the statement says.

DF leaders Andrija Mandic, Nebojsa Medojevic and Milan Knezevic intended to visit Berlin, Brussels, Paris and London in the following days, in order to inform high-ranking officials there about the depth of the political crisis in Montenegro and the terror that DF, the strongest opposition group, faced.

“Prior to these meetings, DF leaders planned to visit Zagreb and discuss the fabricated state coup with relevant officials there. According to our information, people of the regime learnt that the first meeting of DF leaders will be in Zagreb. That caused real confusion and panic among them, particularly Milivoje Katnic and his boss Milo Djukanovic, who are the initiators and masterminds of this affair. It is not difficult to conclude why Katnic is so worried,” DF stated.

Mandic and Knezevic are accused of attempting terrorism before the October elections last year. The trial is scheduled for 19, 20 and 21 July.

In addition to Mandic, Knezevic and Mandic’s driver Mihailo Cadjenovic, the SDT’s indictment includes two Russian citizens, Edvard Shishmakov and Vladimir Popov, as well as nine Serbian citizens.

According to the indictment, on 16 October last year the state coup was prevented.
