Konjevic: We’ll support Armenko as Constitutional Court judge, but not Tesic or Djuranovic

The Montenegrin bloc should offer citizens a non-partisan candidate who is recognized for European and civic values, says the leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Rasko Konjevic, in the I Know That You Know show on City TV. He believes that no presidential candidate will win in the first round and announces that the party will go to the early parliamentary elections independently.

When it comes to candidates for judges of the Constitutional Court, SDP will not support Momirka Tesic and Dragana Djuranovic as candidates, Konjevic points out.

“We will not support the candidate Tesic for professional reasons, because we believe that through her previous work, she does not deserve to receive a certain type of promotion and be a member of the most important court, the composition of the legal aristocracy. Of the people whose biographies guarantee that they can be judges, we will support Mrs. Armenko because we think she deserves it and is the best candidate. With her biography, professional work and training, she deserves to be a judge of the Constitutional Court”, Konjevic has stressed.

When it comes to the candidate Djuranovic, SDP believes that it is not good to choose a candidate who will not be able to fulfill even close to half of the mandate, because she will retire by law in a year and a half or two at the latest.

“Someone younger with appropriate references and at least a longer mandate than half of the 28 candidates should have been elected. Former judge Djuranovic also had a certain kind of negative presentation because during the hearing she mentioned her party affiliation. I said that this was a mistake she made, but that does not diminish her professional knowledge, which we do not dispute”, Konjevic has stated.

He says he was not surprised by the presentation of presidential candidates.

Andrija Mandic’s candidacy, he adds, is not causally and indirectly related to Milo Djukanovic’s candidacy, but it’s rather a political spin.

He believes that presidential elections are much more uncertain than parliamentary elections.

“In presidential elections, everything is individual. It is an unimaginable situation that anyone who shares the values of SDP votes for Andrija Mandic. It is simply unimaginable”, Konjevic has concluded.
