Leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Mr. Ranko Krivokapic, sent a letter to the leader of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) and newly elected Montenegrin President, Mr. Milo Djukanovic, urging him to apologize for his statement about the attack on journalist of Vijesti daily, Mrs. Olivera Lakic – or to accept that he gave open permission for killing of journalists.
“You are expected to clearly separate the attitude towards street killers from your hatred of free media”, Mr. Krivokapic wrote adding that “equating armed attacks of contract killers against journalists writing good or bad articles on crime.. is unprecedented in the public scene of the civilized world”.
And if these things are the same, the leader of SDP added, then Mr. Djukanovic is the greatest killer of all, “painting targets” on the backs of his political opponents, spanning a period of two centuries. And yet, he says, “no one is equating you with a hooded killer”, or calling you the scum of society.
“Therefore I invite you, for the fundamental constitutional reasons, to apologize to the citizens for this statement as soon as possible, or accept that you have given permission for the killing of those who revealed the looting of this people through the media. Do this as soon as possible because the blood of citizens and journalists of Montenegro is already overflowing in your time”, Mr. Krivokapic alerted in his letter.
