Laković Drašković: Proposed prosecutorial laws are manipulative

Marijana Laković Drašković

Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović has deceived the Montenegrin public as well as his colleagues from the ruling coalition by stating that the draft prosecutorial laws were aligned with European partners, as Mr Abazović himself admitted that the translated document was sent to the EC today.

Democrats, on the other hand, told today they hope it’s true what DPM Abazović claimed as they didn’t see the document. It turns out that our suspicions were justified as prosecutorial laws have just been sent and will be aligned after international partners provide their comments.

According to former negotiator for Chapters 23 and 24, Marijana Laković Drašković, for such a demanding process, not only knowledge of adoption procedures is needed, but also expert knowledge that representatives of this government, which is more than obvious, do not possess.

Finally, Ms Laković Drašković doesn’t expect that the parliamentary majority will find a legal solution compatible with the opinion of the Venice Commission.
