Law on Religious Communities to wait for the opposition

Mehmet Zenka

Government wants the Law on Freedom of Religion to be a document that will have the widest possible support, because it is an extremely sensitive issue. Therefore, it will wait for some time for the opposition to return to parliament, in order to include their suggestions in the final version of the law, minister of human and minority rights Mehmed Zenka said.

This does not mean, as he said, that representatives of his ministry will be idle. They will work and include all religious communities in order for the draft law to be as acceptable as possible for all.

“After the public hearing, we have received a large number of suggestions. Most of them were delivered only to prevent the law from entering the procedure and thus get the final version,” Zenka told Pobjeda.
