Local administration in Budva shows disrespect for national anthem

Sa današnje sjednice SO Budva

In today’s ceremonial session of the Municipal assembly of Budva  organized on the occasion of celebrating Municipality Day, national anthem was disrespected because the shortened version was played. President of the municipality, Mr Marko Carević, said that it had been agreed that complete instrumental of the anthem should be played. He says it was a technical omission, not a sign of disrespect.

Mr Carević said shortly after the session finished that he “respects national anthem”.

President of DPS in Budva, Mr Predrag Jelušić, harshly criticized the occurrence and pointed out that they were all exasperated because national anthem had been disrespected.

“When I became head of Budva, I couldn’t even guess what kind of challenges lie ahead. I soon realized that I’m slowly but surely entering the world where compromise and agreement are necessary. A world where interests are multiple and often oppose public interest of the citizens. However, while respecting the difference in views and ideas, and guided by better vision of this town, I thought that some goals are priority and I committed myself to achieving those goals”, said Mr Carević in his address.

He added that local administration had to cooperate with state authorities for the citizens’ best interests.

“I will commit to building bridges of cooperation and understanding. When I took over this function, I wanted to prove that I can be a president of all citizens”, said Mr Carević.

President of the Municipal Assembly in Budva, Mr Krsto Radović has been performing this function for almost one year.

“I manage the most important body which decides about the future of our town. Regardless of the origins, party or social commitment, we must be aware of our human and moral responsibility! In 2016  Budva was in shatters. Today, it functions normally. And this is only beginning”, said Mr Radović.
