It is not possible to discharge waste and faeces from cruisers into the sea, claims safety of maritime navigation inspector in the Kotor Harbormasters’ Office Zeljko Lompar, Pobjeda reports.

He explains that there are no technical possibilities for this.

“Cruisers do not have a pipeline that is connected to the sea, so the ships cannot discharge waste water into the sea,” explained Lompar.

As for the faeces, he said that there is no way that the faecal valves are automatically closed as soon as a cruiser enters the territorial waters of a state.

According to him, cruisers do not cause dirty trails that can be seen after ship departure.

He explained that large powerful cruisers cause moving of seabed mud and it looks like the cruiser discharged something into the sea.
