Maestral hosted famous poker players

Only a week after the renovated Maestral hotel was opened, it has been recognised as a centre of the world jet set when it comes to Texas Holdem Poker.

Namely, the Triton Group organised a super high roller series in Montenegro at Greek investor Petros Stathis’s Maestral Resort & Casino from 16 to 20 July 2017.

The winner is German player Manig Loeser. He will return home with a prestigious trophy and an incredible sum of $2,162,644.

The main event of this tournament gathered 52 participants from various countries, who paid $128,056 entry fee each. Thus the main prize increased to $6,264,709, which was shared among eight finalists.

The finalists are incredible poker players, the best in the world, including Sam Trickett, the number one British player, who used to win even $20m prize in a live game.

Then, there was John Juanda, a veteran poker player from Indonesia. He won five trophies in the world poker series and more than $20m in a live game. He was ranked fourth in the Triton Super High Roller Series Main Event, winning $595,581.

Then, Fedor Holz, a poker player from Germany called the “wunderkind” who won more than $23m in live poker tournaments at the age of 23. He won the Triton SHR Series 6-Max event at Maestral Resort & Casino winning $444,893.

Steve O’Dwyer also participated at the tournament. He is a senior high roller specialist from the United States and won $18.5m in live poker tournaments.

There were also other players of great importance, such as Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates, Tom Dwan, Timofey ‘Trueteller’ Kuznetsoz, Andrew Robl, Wai Kin Yong, Richard Yong, Paul Phua, Wang Xiang and Koray Aldemir.

Triton SHR Series Montenegro also proclaimed a local hero. Namely, this is a Montenegrin player Predrag Lekovic who won the highly respected third place in the 6-Max event, winning $175,902.
