Markovic in Durres: Opportunities for further development

Prime Minister of Montenegro Dusko Markovic took part in an informal meeting of prime ministers of WB6 in Durres today. He said that such meetings give the countries in the region an opportunity to ensure further development and growth, especially for the younger population.

The meeting represents a continuation of agreements from Trieste, that include economic cooperation in the region.

“The sole fact that prime ministers of Western Balkan meet and discuss these subjects guarantees the results. When it comes to national interests and economies, Montenegro has managed to ensure fiscal consolidation and solid growth, in the amount of 6%”, Markovic said.

Today they spoke about trade barriers, a more quality problem solutions, cooperation between chambers of commerce.

In addition to Markovic, prime minister of Albania Edi Rama, prime minsiter of Macedonia Zoran Zaev, prime minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic, prime minister of Kosovo Isa Mustafa, president of council of ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic as well as Johannes Hahn and World Bank representative Cyril Muller took part.

Hahn said that the key priority is to build up the regional economic cooperation in order to foster a better employment situation.

“On the other hand, regional economic integration is no alternative to EU membership”, Hahn said on Twitter.
