Marković: Our country isn’t in danger

Danger to our country and its political system from current protests doesn’t exist, that’s what I think. In fact, I am sure about it, said the Prime Minister, Duško Marković, today during the Prime Minister’s hour, while adding that he wouldn’t allow the atmosphere of revolt to be felt.

Andrija Popović asked the PM if competent state institutions were ready to protect constitutional and legal order of our country, in case so far peaceful protests radicalize, considering that such protests used to turn into violent demonstrations.

“Montenegrin institutions are able and ready to protect constitutional and legal order of this country in any moment, under any circumstances”, answered the PM.

He is sure that Montenegro is not in any danger.

“This Montenegro is not the Montenegro from 1928, or 1998. However, I’ll remind you, even under terrible circumstances, Montenegro managed to secure its European and Euro-Atlantic future, that can’t be endangered”, said the PM.

Those who see protests as a way of expressing opinion, don’t want to demolish bur rather, they want to build.

PM spoke about the reduction of unemployment, records in tourism and agriculture, situation in healthcare system and education, and he said that there were no any reasons for boycotting the work of the Government. However, there’s always space for improvements.

No stopping until crime is rooted out

Mihailo Anđušič, member of DPS, asked the PM what activities Police Department has undertaken in relation to the members of criminal groups in the last six months, and what has been done in lighting up serious crimes committed at the territory of Montenegro.

“The Police searched the facilities used by the members of criminal groups. They found weapons intended for the execution of crimes and confiscated them. The information I got from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 20 liquidations in 2018 have been prevented this way”, said the PM.

Consequently, great number of criminals are now out of Montenegro.

“They got the message – in Montenegro, they are not safe and they can’t enjoy the comfort for their activities”, says the PM.

There have been four murders in Montenegro in the last six months. Three have already been solved.

Prime Minister pointed out that there wouldn’t be any financial or material restrictions on reinforcing Montenegrin  police, with the aim of rooting out crime from this country.
