Medojević: I resign as an MP, I love Montenegro but I love my family more

Nebojša Medojević

Leader of the Movement for Changes (PzP), Mr Nebojša Medojević, is going to resign as MP after the discussion on the budget.

“As I have mentioned on several occasions before, I’m going to resign as an MP. Following the consultations with the PzP caucus, my resignation will come after the discussion on the budget, as we’re supposed the show the public the ideological, political and professional differences between this government and the PzP,” Mr Medojević posted on Facebook.

According to him, the budget discussion will show that his estimations regarding the continuity of the government were accurate and based on the arguments and knowledge of ideological positions of the state.

“The budget debate will wrap up my work in the Montenegrin parliament since 2006 and show the principled nature, expertise and correctness of the PzP program principles and our persistent fight against the neoliberal global concept that has led to brutal plunder of the state and people, structural poverty and corruption,” Mr Medojević noted.

He has also added that the position of the new government is clear – Mr Đukanović’s apprehension is not a priority, as he contributed to the independence of Montenegro and it would only additionally deepen the gaps in Montenegro.

“This position is completely unacceptable and is a proof that a shameful behind-the-scenes deal has been made with Mr Đukanović to forgive him all his crimes and robberies of this people, and that Mr Krivokapić’s and Mr Abazović’s government won’t confiscate the property of the Đukanović family.”

He also says he doesn’t want to be the part of the parliamentary majority that is going to destroy the last chance for Montenegro to become the democratic country with the rule of law.
