Montenegro’s Ministry of Finance, MF, will do everything in its power to establish the budget inspection as soon as possible and thus have a chief budget inspector, having in mind its significance in strengthening fiscal discipline and improving the monitoring system over lawful usage of citizens’ money.
The Ministry explained: “We have already created the legal basis and envisaged the Department for the Budget Inspection within the MF. Currently, we do not have a chief budget inspector even though we conducted the recruitment procedure for this position several times.”
The budget inspector position was first created in 2014.
