Milatovic: Signing agreement in a foreign embassy is not a good practice, dual citizenship issue is legitimate

Montenegro’s President, Jakov Milatovic, expressed concerns about the agreement between the government and the opposition being signed in a foreign embassy, stating that such matters should be handled within the country’s institutions. While he welcomed the agreement, which aims to seek an opinion from the Venice Commission on the termination procedure for a Constitutional Court judge, he emphasized that all topics, including dual citizenship, should be open for discussion.

Milatovic also raised concerns about the lack of transparency in the lease of Ulcinj’s beaches, citing a company registering late for a tender.

Additionally, he commented on Croatia’s suggestion to adopt a resolution condemning the aggression against Dubrovnik, suggesting that Montenegro should focus on moving forward rather than revisiting past issues.

Lastly, he confirmed that he would not be participating in the upcoming elections in Niksic.
