Minister Spajic started work on Marshall Plan following CdM’s articles

Milojko Spajić

Following the articles of CdM suggesting that the pompous Marshall Plan presented by the Minister of Finance and Social Welfare, Milojko Spajic, does not exist, the ministry has accelerated work on this document, CdM has learned.

The data available to the public, based on the presentation of the ministry, envisage the abolition of contributions to health insurance and the reduction of the tax burden on salaries from the current 39 to 21 percent. What is missing, however, are precise indicators of how the state will compensate for budget deficits, cover health insurance funds, ensure harmonization of coefficients on salaries in the public sector, harmonization of pensions …

Montenegro’s experts have been worried about the plan of Minister Spajic, whereas the International Monetary Fund, which have reduced their projections of growth of the Montenegrin economy from 9% to 7%, also issued a warning.

If we take into account the 15% economic decline in 2020, caused by the coronavirus pandemic, it means that we are not even halfway compared to 2019. Whether an increase in wages, minimum and average, can be expected in such an environment, time will tell.
