Imagine you’re a pilot but have no an aircraft to fly with. It’s a reality of the Ministry of Interior’s Aviation Unit, which doesn’t have a single functional aircraft.

According to Srdja Vujovic, Chief Officer of the Aviation Unit, if there comes to the situation that they need to save someone’s life, they simply can’t react.

“No helicopter is being functional at the moment”.

There are no spare parts for one of it, and they expect them to come by the end of April, while the second one is waiting for the contract on services and repair.

Mr Vujovic adds that they depend on the maintenance services done abroad.

“We expect to be able to finish that part of job with the service providers,” he says.

Meanwhile, the Army of Montenegro has taken over.
