The first MNE case of monkeypox has been reported by health officials. It’s registered in a Montenegrin national and he’s feeling good, the Public Health Institute stated. Montenegro has thus joined the list comprising 79 countries which registered monkeypox.

“The Molecular Diagnostics Lab of the Public Health Institute of Montenegro detected monkeypox, and in cooperation with the Torlak Institute of Virology, Vaccines and Serums confirmed the first case,” they said.

The statement says that they carried out all the necessary measures to treat a patient and people he was in contact with, in order to curb the spread of the aforementioned disease.

“In addition, all competent bodies have been informed about it in line with national and international protocols,” the statement suggests.
